Kenya has been facing a big food insecurity crisis. In Kenya, the most expensive food group is protein for both human and animal consumption. Furthermore, the number of malnourished individuals has also increased due to the food prices and especially protein. The aim of this project is to solve this by providing a cheaper and locally available protein alternative through entomophagy by white grub consumption. White grubs are highly nutritious and it can be consumed as they are or used as powder form. Nutrigrub powder can be integrated with other foods like wheat flour and maize flour to achieve the required protein. White grub powder can also be used as protein feed or supplement feed for poultry and for aquaculture, which improves their development.
